ESSENTIAL CBD OIL GUIDE 2019
PART 1: Basic CBD Oil Info & Beginner FAQs
Phytocinnabinoid Rich (PCR) hemp-derived CBD oil is a natural extract from the aerial part of the plant to include flowers, leaves, and colas (buds/tops) of the hemp plant. Not all CBD oils; however, are the same. Significant differences exist based on the plant from which the CBD oil is extracted and the methods of extraction and delivery. As such, different products containing CBD oil may have different strengths, dosages, methods of administration and uses.

PART 2 What, Exactly, Is CBD?
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of many chemical compounds called cannabinoids that occur naturally in the hemp plant and the human body alike.
Cannabinoids are a class of compounds that are produced biologically in hemp and are classified as phytocannabinoids, which mimic the activity of cannabinoids that are produced in humans and other mammalian life forms such as household pets. The mammalian form of cannabinoids are classified as endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are a type of neurotransmitter that acts on specific receptors in the brain to influence the release of certain other neurotransmitters and provide the body’s cells with instructions that affect their behavior.
The most commonly known cannabinoid in the cannabis plant is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the primary psychoactive compound in hemp. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most common phytocannabinoid, which produces no psychoactive effects yet provides a host of other physiological benefits for health and wellness.
When you buy full or broad spectrum phhytocanabinoid rich (PCR) hemp extract oil, it will include more than a hundred cannabinoids. Other cannabinoids found in PCR hemp, besides CBD and traces of THC, are cannabichromene (CBC), the third most prevalent cannabinoid in PCR hemp, and cannabigerol (CBG), a cannabinoid produced in the plant early in its life cycle. Both CBG and CBC are believed by scientists and researchers to have similar therapeutic properties as those possessed by CBD.
PART 3 CBD For Pets
CBD can be as effective for dogs and other pets as it is for humans. Be aware; however, that the dosages for humans and pets can be considerably different. The reason for this is twofold as follows: one, the size differential between humans and other animals can be quite significant; and two, pets have far fewer cannabinoid receptors in their endocannabinoid systems than humans do. Therefore, CBD products made for people are not always appropriate for pets, as their concentrations of CBD may be too high. Fortunately, there are a number of CBD products made specifically for pet health. There are even different CBD pet treats and supplements containing different concentrations of CBD oil that are individually tailored to small, medium and large dogs.
PART 4 Administering CBD Oil
How CBD oil is administered, depends largely on the type of CBD oil product that you are using. CBD oil can be administered through a variety of product types, from liquids to hemp gummies and other edibles, to topical applications like PCR hemp extract oil lotion. Each of these product types may contain different forms of CBD oil. Therefore, it is essential to know the method of administration and the type of CBD oil that is contained within each product before making a purchase decision. The following are some of the most common types of CBD oil that are currently available on the market:
Raw industrial hemp extract – Not the highest-quality source of CBD oil, but better than hemp seed oil, which contains no CBD at all.
Broad spectrum CBD oil – CBD oil containing other cannabinoids and terpenes but not THC.
Raw Phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp extract – A broad or full spectrum CBD oil that also contains other terpenes and cannabinoids.
PCR or CBD-rich oil – Broad or full spectrum CBD oil or concentrate that has been infused with pure CBD oil concentrate.
CBD distillate or concentrate – A broad of full spectrum CBD oil with all unwanted compounds taken out.
CBD isolate – Pure CBD oil with all the other terpenes and cannabinoids removed.
CBD-infused oil – Any product with pure CBD oil infused into it, though sometimes used to refer to full spectrum CBD oil, which, unlike broad-spectrum CBD oil, may also contain traces of THC.
These various forms of CBD oil may be administered in liquid, capsule, inhalation, or ingestible forms, each with its advantages and disadvantages for consideration, which is dependent on the user and various circumstances. Inhalation works much faster than most other forms, for example, but it isn’t always appropriate in every environment. In addition, while vaporization is purportedly safer than smoking, it still possesses health risks to the respiratory system. Capsules are a subtler, more discreet form of administration that can be taken almost anywhere, but the onset time may be longer. Ingestibles can be effective for an extended period period of time, but dosages can be hard to regulate making it easy for an individual to take too much causing the effect to last longer than desired.
PART 5 Getting Started with CBD Oil
When you buy CBD oil online, make sure you know which type of CBD oil you are buying: pure CBD oil, or full-spectrum, or broad spectrum CBD oil. Different CBD users prefer different types of CBD oil forms with their desired product, which is dependent upon their goals. To avoid any possibility of psychoactive effects from CBD oil, broad-spectrum pure CBD oil from phytocanabinoid rich (PCR) hemp is best as it contains no detectable levels of THC.
MD Organix products contain the highest quality broad spectrum PCR hemp-derived extract on the market. All of our products contain the full compliment of phytocanabinoids minus the THC as well as the full compliment of terpenes, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
